Before, the impression I had about Donggang was only Bluefin tuna and the harbor of Little Liuqiu, but after I followed the newest Donggong/ Little Liuqiu/ Dapeng Bay E-Travel Tour Package Website, now I know this Donggang fishing village is heaven for food. Plus, they are having many unique activities flourishingly, like sailing board and windsurfing, I am ready for these experiences!
Dapeng Bay Sailboat Club
Came to the Dapeng Bay Sailboat Club in the morning, of course I need to do something interesting to wake me up. Dapeng Bay has an unique lagoon terrain, it doesn’t have strong waves, people who have no experiences practice here.
The handsome coach was giving us instructions and telling us what we needed to know, wearing a life jacket is a must, we were really focused on paying attention listening to all of them! (The handsome coach is the main point)
If you have a group of four people or more, you can choose windsurfing, under the coach’s leadership, roaming Dapeng Bay for an hour, look at the blue sky and clouds, awesome feeling, enjoy the sea! If you want to go windsurfing by yourself, you can request it.
The coach will also teach you the simple techniques, it is like magic to me that windsurfing doesn’t have any electric power but can ride the wind and waves. It’s exciting to ride in a downwind, it’s relaxing to ride it without wind.
If you only have a few people traveling together, you can also choose the sailing board like you can see in the movie. The coach dragged the sailing board to the shore and told us what we need to know. Then did a demonstration for us. The coach might look really young, however he started learning this since kindergarten.
Stand on the board, pull up the sail, stand straight, use both hands….wow! The sailing board is really moving! This feeling is fantastic! Mom, I can control the sailing board! (there’s a lot of exclamation marks in this passage, you can see how amazed I was by it!)

Donggang Food tour package deal
Finished the windsurfing, now I am going to recommend you this “Three-Hour Donggong Food Tour” ticket! The “Shrimp & bamboo shoot meatballs,” contains a full fresh shrimp and juicy shredded bamboo shoots, it’s not easy to find this anywhere else. I recommend you to order one or more dish-Mixed platter: Taiwanese sausages, one with sticky rice, and the other is a bean noodle sausage. Let’s have Donggang style afternoon tea.
We went straight to the food gathering place- Huaqiao Market! I must try Rui Zi Marlin Fish Oden Rolls since I was there! Eat fresh deep fried Marlin Fish Oden Rolls it’s the memorable thing.
You can’t leave without eating a big bowl of sashimi here at Wang Jiang Sashimi in Huaqiao Market. Although it’s in the fish market, they still provide a comfortable dining area. The set meal that we had is only offered to people who buy the package from the website. Bluefin tuna, the abdomen and the sweet shrimp, everything was so delicious. Don’t forget to pay some extra to order the fresh sashimi, we ordered the “golden triangle” it was really amazing.
The fifth stop- The most heartwarming store “Wei Yi Food” across from the market. It’s not only the place that you can buy some souvenirs, but also the information station assigns by the Tourism Bureau. So if you have any question about your trip, feel free to ask Apple!

Finally we went to Donggang Religious Center- Donglong Temple. The gate was under construction when we came here last year, but now it’s magnificent! Donglong Temple also host the Wang Yeh boat-burning Festival every three years. It’s about to happen in 2018, if you like to attend the ceremony, you should write it down in your calendar.
Since this was the food tour, of course we were going to eat something delicious here. The Donglong Health Shop in front of the temple has been here for a long time. The Taiwanese Herb Tea is really smooth and has a sweet after taste, really refreshing and takes some of the summer heat away. Gui Ling Gao is also really popular, although a little bitter taste, it was brewed by precious herbs. Many people ship them home.
Don’t leave Donggang in a hurry, stay for a night and experience the fishing village, we are going to island hopping tomorrow to Little Liuqiu to find the cute sea turtles.

One day tour in Little Liuqiu
We woke up in the early morning the next day to get on the first boat ready to travel the whole island! The red and yellow color of Tai Fu Ship looks obvious in the blue sky background, made me have a really good mood. We booked the ”Donggong and Little liuqiu round trip boat ticket + electric scooter rental (8 Hrs)” we only need to scan the QR code when we board the boat.
The seats on the boat was really comfortable, however if you have motion sickness, I suggest you pick the seat in the back, it will be more stable and more comfortable. We saw a huge rainbow before we departure. (happy)
We went to the specific scooter rental when we arrived at Little Liuqiu. The package come with the most environmentally friendly electric scooter. We were going to travel around the island with the relaxing sea breeze. You can also choose the package with snorkeling, diving to see ecosystems under the sea. Or you can do something cooler like kayak, they are all good choice too.
The view from Little Liuqiu is different than Donggang. There are a lot of rocks with unique shape on the island, the natural scenery is fascinating. There are more and more cute shops on the island these years, buying some famous products and souvenirs is a must!

I didn’t just buy some Fried Dough Twists home, I also DIY. It looks easy to make like a braid, but you need lots of tips to have it done correctly.
We went to ”AZhuYi Sugar Baby Handmade Fried Dough Twists” recommend by local friend. We used an oven to bake it. It tasted refreshing not greasy. They are also selling a lot of flavor that you seldom see like lemon and pineapple. If you eat them cold it’s more delicious! You must try it.
It also has an information station on Little Liuqiu located by the harbor, Sweet Potato Cookies It has over 30 business years. This store is more historical than those new Fried Dough Twists stores. Come here to get some information about Little Liuqiu next time when you off the boat.
